Seriously? ugh.. why do people have the need to start stupid drama over someone who is so inspirational to many people, and someone who has saved so many lives, including mine. Fans are fans and I don’t understand why we need to fight with each other, or even talk smack & spread rumors? If you know something please just keep your mouth closed, and stop spreading shit, truth or not. Can we just enjoy the music? Why is that so hard.. :(
PREACH IT SISTER
omg look what i did
adam ur on money
As I walk into the venue the hum of tattoo machines echo throughout the convention center. Girls dressed as classic pin ups walk around the booths admiring the tattoo artists, while people of all ages display their colorful artwork on all parts of their body.
On stage I hear the sound of a guitar being tuned, then suddenly a familiar voice… Adam Gontier. My heart races as I run towards stage to get a closer look. Adam and his band are running a sound check, but more teasing each other and playfully jamming then preparing for tonight’s show. Adam is wearing his well-known Karma shirt and blue jays hat, but his devilish grin is most apparent as he continues to play his Taylor Acoustic. I dance and jump around as he plays, I can’t contain my excitement. Nearby my friend Alannah laughs at my ridiculousness, and joins along. Adam is sitting onstage strumming his guitar when I burst out, “Adam! Happy Birthday!” I immediately turn bright red- blushing as he says thank you and laughs.
The announcer walks across stage poking fun at the musicians and amping up the crowd for the human suspension that’s about to take place. Suddenly a large group of people surround the area as security pushes me back from the stage. As they hook up the man through his back you hear Adam joking with his Uncle about the amount of pain it takes to do human suspension. Intrigued I look over as the men’s flesh stretches - - the hooks lift him higher into the air. Adam begins strumming chalk outline and plays his last song before disappearing until show time. Although everyone is entranced by the man suspended in mid-air I cannot take my eyes off the amazing man on stage.
Hours seem like days as we wait for Adam’s return. Suddenly the crowd begins to push and shove as Adam enters the building. I begin clutching the guard rail as I try to get a closer look at him walking backstage. The announcer appears once again, “Does anybody know why today is so special?” he asks. “It’s Adam’s birthday!” I scream. The announcer laughs, “Well we got some true fans in the house, and how old is he turning?” Again, I scream “Thirty-five!” The announcer announces its time for Adam but says we need to start off the concert special; soon the entire crowd begins to sing Happy Birthday, as Adam finally re-enters the stage.
There he is within my arms reach. His harmonic voice echoes throughout the center, filling the room and my heart with happiness. After a few songs Adam decides to venture off the set list, “What do you want to hear?” he asks. With no hesitation I yell, “Gone forever”. “Okay” he says as he begins strumming the cords. My heart stops and I try not to cry as he alters the ending with a cover of With or Without You, by U2. After the rest of the band takes the stage, they switch out the acoustic guitars for a more electric style. The crowd squeezes in closer wanting more. With each song the band plays Adam seems happier, no one wants the concert to end. But eventually Never Too Late starts to fade, as Adam and his band members begin to exit the stage. Suddenly the announcer appears again with a brightly colored birthday cake and a candle. The perfect end to a perfect day.
